12-Year-Old Angel  Wins UBA’s Back-to-School Kiddies and Teens Accounts Raffle

Angel Amara Fefegula, a 12-year-old girl from Magburaka, has won the UBA (United Bank for Africa) Kiddies and Teens Accounts raffle held on January 12, 2023, at the bank’s Office in Freetown.

Angel’s mother, Alma Saio Kamara, expressed gratitude to the Lord, saying, “We dey pray e dey show ‘angel’ of the Lord.”

UBA launched the Back-to-School Remittance Promotion on August 15, 2023 for account holders of UBA Kiddies and Teens Accounts.

These accounts are designed for children aged 0-12 (Kiddies) and 13-17 years (Teens) allowing parents or guardians to create an early savings culture for their children.

Angel, a junior secondary school pupil (JSS2) dreams of becoming a medical doctor.

When she learned about her success at the raffle, she was thrilled and expressed thanks to UBA. She also shared her plans to use the NLe 25,000 scholarship for her education.

Opening a savings account for a child can offer several benefits, including financial education, teaching the importance of saving, and providing a safe place for money to grow.

UBA Kiddies and Teens Accounts have good interest rates and other features such as quarterly draws and promotions that can help children develop good savings habits from an early age.

The MD/CEO of UBA Sierra Leone, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura congratulated Angel and expressed the bank’s appreciation to Angel’s mother for opening a savings account for her daughter in UBA Sierra Leone.

Head of Retail Banking, Anita Thomas also joined the MD/CEO in congratulating Angel and her mother. The Marking and Corporate Communications (MCC) Team was represented by the Head, MCC, Sallieu Sesay, Kumba Foday-Ngongou, and Ronalda Cole.

Angel’s mother, Alma Saio Kamara expressed her surprise and gratitude for the win stating that she does not believe in raffle draws due to her fear of scammers. She expressed appreciation to UBA for putting smiles on her daughter’s face.
