3 Remanded For Store Breaking

Three accused, Kebbie Conteh, Alfred Desmond Simeon Koroma and Amadu Mansaray, were yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura for allegedly breaking and entering into the shop of Rugiatu Sesay where they stole assorted properties all estimated at four hundred and sixteen million, three hundred and eighty thousand leones (Le 416,380,000).

The accused were charged with two counts of conspiracy, store breaking and larceny, contrary to section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

Court details inform that the accused, on Tuesday 17th July 2018 at Sesay Drive, Campbell Town, Waterloo, conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit store breaking and larceny.

The court details continue that the accused, on the same day and place, with intent to steal, broke and entered into the store of Rugiatu and stole fifty-one bundles of school bags, valued at  one hundred and seventy-eight million, five hundred thousand leones (Le 178,500,000), three Samsung plasma television sets, valued at fifty-four million leones (Le54,000,000), two IPads, valuedat ten million leones (Le 10,000,000),one hundred and forty-four body spray perfumes, valued one hundred and twenty-one million, six hundred and eighty thousand leones (Le 121,680,000) and other valuable items, all to the total value of four hundred and sixteen million, three hundred and eighty thousand leones(Le,416,380,000), which is the property of Rugiatu Sesay.

A.S.P. Erick Deen, prosecutor in the matter, took an adjournment and, since the accused were not represented, no bail application was made on their behalf. They were remanded and the matter was adjourned to the 13th August 2018.
