MAGISTRATE SANTIGIE BANGURA COMMITS 33 CASES TO HIGH COURT

Magistrate Court No.2 in Bo, presided over by Magistrate Santigie Ibrahim Sorie Bangura, has committed over thirty three cases to the High Court for various offences ranging from murder, rape, sexual penetration and robbery with aggravation.

There are also cases of conspiracy, to wit larceny by trick, robbery with violence, house breaking and larceny cattle, wounding with intent, conspiracy to murder and larceny from person, among others. They will be heard on various dates in March and May 2019.

Magistrate Santigie Ibrahim Sorie Bangura has said that sexual penetration cases, rape, robbery and murder are the highest crimes committed for trial at the High Court from March to May 2019 respectively. This shows that the crime is on the increase, despite the punitive measures in place for perpetrators.

Among these cases is the matter involving Abdulai Jalloh, a military personnel attached to Vemetco Mining Company, Sierra Rutile Limited. He gunned down his boss, Issa Kamara, at Mata Camp Vemetco Mining Company in the lower Banta Chiefdom, Moyamba District on 21st March 2019.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused, Abdulai Jalloh, on Sunday 24th March 2019 at Nitti Harbor in the Lower Banta Chiefdom, murdered his boss, Issa Kamara.

Abdulai Jalloh made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Ibrahim Sorie Bangura on 8th April 2019 on one count charge of murder.

He has made several appearances and is being led by police prosecutor ASP Mohamed B. Conteh. The prosecutor led three factual witnesses and two former witnesses, including the police.

At the conclusion of the preliminary investigation at the Magistrate Court, the matter was committed to the High Court on 9th May 2019.

Another case between the Inspector General of Police and Kekura Gbetuwa was charged to court with the offence of murder, which is contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused, on Tuesday 25th December 2018 at Daru village in the Kaiyamba Chiefdom Moyamba District, murdered Baindu Nabieu.
