Kroo Town Road FC were crowned three straight champions of the Triple K Veterans Tournament, dubbed the late Abdulai Kaloga Memorial trophy, defeating Ascentonians FC in post-match penalty shootout (5-4), after a goalless draw in full time of play at the St. Edwards Secondary School field, on Friday, January 3rd, 2023.
The Triple K (Kroo Town, Kroo Bay and Kingtom) Veterans Tournament sponsored by the founders of Say No To Drugs “Our Future Matters”, Abu Bakar Sillah aka Capay Ivorian Sillas and Mamadu Bobor Barrie, the owner of Barrie Help Foundation, was organized by former Mighty Blackpool’s player, Atto’ Opng’ Manneh and co.
Six (6) communities including Kroo Town Road, Kroo Bay, Kingtom, Maroon Town, Ascension Town and Sweissy Veterans participated in the fourth edition.
The final was graced by host of personalities including the Kroo Bay Community chiefs, Pa Alimamy Gbenpa Kargbo, Pa Alimamy Soriba Tamrokoh and Pa Alimamy Maroof Katorgbeh and the Kolleh Town Community Chief-Pa Alimamy Koroma, Mrs. Bah, the Widow of the late Coach Abdulai Kaloga Bah and also Leone Stars Head Coach-Amidu Karim, former national team captain, Abu Bakar Tostao Kamara and more.
According to Capay Ivorian Sillas, this year’s tournament was dedicated in honor of the late Coach Abdulai Kaloba Bah, who was also part of the Triple K movement.
He furthered that the Triple K Veterans Tournament is meant for the unity and brotherhood within these communities, calling on everyone to continue with the camaraderie.
Sillah called on everyone to continue sensitizing the youths in their communities and the country as whole on the danger in taking Kush and other harmful drugs which are destroying the future of this nation.

The ‘Triple K’ movement is meant to keep the camaraderie alive among childhood friends within the Kroo Town, Kroo Bay and Kingtom Communities, Bakar Sillah who was born and breed in the Kroo Town Community, now based in the United Kingdom initiated the Veterans Tournament which he and his partner, Bobor Barrie sponsored through the Say No To Drugs “Our Future Matters”, commences during the festive season at the Kroo Bay Community field.
