Orange SL, MoC, Huawei Set To Train 50 Sierra Leonean Youth

As part of its contribution to national development, Orange Sierra Leone (OSL) in partnership with Ministry of Communication and Huawei Sierra Leone, will train 50 young men and women in Information and Communication Technology in days to come.

The training which will be delivered by Huawei experts will focus on Cyber Security and Digital Marketing.

This year, the 50 youth will be offered the opportunity to participate in a fully-funded, one week intensive training at the Orange Digital Centre in Freetown which has produced and employed several IT graduates.

The Sierra Leone ICT Talent Development Programme is a digital skills’ capacity development initiative aimed at empowering outstanding university graduates with 21st century IT skills to enable them provide digital skills training for secondary school students and traders in Sierra Leone.

The portal has been opened and qualified candidates should send a detailed resume and complete application at https://bit.ly/ICTtalentdev-sl, and Friday 26th April, 2024 at 5: 00pm (1700HRS GMT) is the deadline.

Applicants must be graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any ICT-related field from an accredited university, and certification should be within the past three years.

They must also possess strong presentation and public speaking skills and should be willing to undergo intensive training and actively participate in community training activities.

It is a maiden edition  and after the intensive one-week training, excellent shortlisted applicants will be deployed to train secondary school students and traders across  eight districts in Sierra Leone.

The initiative comes with incentives which will be discussed with participants upon final discussion.
