The Member of Parliament for Constituency 104 in the Pujehun District, Honorable Shiaka Musa Sama and some of his constituency members were yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Freetown Magistrate Court No.1 for allegedly conspiring with other persons unknown to commit a felony, to wit robbery with violence.
The accused involved are Shaika Musa Sama, FodayMaiwo, Momoh Ensan, Momoh Koroma, Vandie Nabieu, Alie Aruna, Foday Bangura, Mannah Tucker, Ibrahim Tucker, Jusufu Luseni, Lahai Daboh, Sallia Sengova, Alhaji Moigua and Sheka Bangura.
They were arraigned on one count of conspiracy to commit a felony and the particulars of offence indicate that the accused, on the 24th January, 2019 at the Socfin Agriculture compound Salen Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun District in the Southern province, conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime, to wit robbery with violence.
After the charges were read to the accused they pleaded not guilty of the offence.The lead prosecutor, Detective Assistant Superintendent of Police Joan Bull, sought for an adjournment on the grounds that her witnesses were not present in court.
Defense Counsel, Sahr Fomba, made bail application on behalf of all accused. He assured the court that they have reliable sureties to stand on their behalf and they will not interfere with prosecution witnesses
The prosecutor objected to bail being granted on the grounds that the offence for which the accused are charged with is a very serious one.
Magistrate Bangura refused bail and the matter was adjourned to the 20th February, 2019.
