In a milestone event, the Brookfield Community Football Team on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, unveiled their team’s jersey and players ahead of their first match in the ongoing Central One Football Association Inter-Community League at the Parade playing ground.

The atmosphere at Morgan Lane on Brookfields was vibrant and electricfying, filled with enthusiasm and community’s pride as Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah aka  Chericoco officially presented the team’s new jerseys and players to the community.

Speaking at the event as keynote speaker, Hon. Chericoco expressed his enthusiasm for supporting Brookfield’s Community in terms of sports and other community development initiatives, emphasizing that sports, particularly football, are not only a source of entertainment but also a unifying force that promotes peace, discipline, and teamwork.

“Our participation in this tournament is more than just football. It’s about bringing the Brookfields Community together, showcasing our talented players, and fostering unity and pride, he said.

Hon. Chericoco further acknowledged the role of Brookfields’ veterans, stating, “Brookfields’ business is everyone’s business, and no one should wait to be called upon.” He highlighted his efforts to unify the community, stressing football’s ability to bring people together across gender, race, and background, and called for everyone’s active participation to ensure Brookfields’ success in the COFA Tournament.

The Team Manager on behalf of the Team’s management, players, community elders, youth, and women thanked Hon. Chericoco for his outstanding support, describing him as a true son of Brookfields who invests in the community, empowers youth, and promotes sports development.

The unveiling ceremony was met with cheers from supporters and players, who expressed optimism for their team’s performance.

The Brookfields Community Team will proudly wear their new jerseys as they compete in this year’s COFA Inter-Community Football Tournament.

Speaking, Kadiata Kallon, Country manager for AMI Expidational Health Care – the Chief Sponsor of the Brookfield Community Team, said October 1st, this year will mark their 10 years existence in the community so they decided to give back to the community by supporting Team.

“We will be celebrating our 10 years of operation in the Brookfields Community on the 1st of October; as part of our celebration outlined I was looking at things that I was supposed to do to commomerate our anniversary this year. One of the things that comes to my mind is youth’s support and you can’t support the youth without supporting football so we decided to partner with the Community Team in their COFA inter community league wherein we will be supporting the team in different aspect.”

“We are providing the jerseys for the players as well as the team’s management for tomorrow game and we will provide another very special jersey which they will used on October 1; which is the day that marks our 10th anniversary; we would also provide them with boots for the players and we will make our ambulance available and aslo provide medical support to them for with our nurses, paramedics and other staff made available during all their matches,” Madam Kallon affirmed

She called on the community people to rally behind the team as they go out there to represent them at the most watchful league within the Freetown municipality.
