The Scaling Up Nutrition & Food Systems Coordinating Unit (SUN-FSCU), in collaboration with Agrinatura and the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI), convened the SASI-SPI Research Dissemination Workshop in Freetown under the theme “From Evidence to Action: Building Nutritious Food Systems Through Multi-Stakeholder Dialogues.”

The workshop presented key findings from consultations in Kenema and Port Loko, highlighting progress across agriculture, health, and community systems, while identifying critical challenges such as limited dietary diversity, seasonal food access, and infrastructure gaps.

The engagement reinforced a clear message: stronger integration of nutrition across the Feed Salone Agenda is essential to deliver affordable, healthy diets for all Sierra Leoneans. Moving forward, priorities include strengthening demand for nutritious foods, updating national food systems pathways, and decentralizing coordination to districts.
Together, we are turning evidence into action to improve food systems and nutrition outcomes across Sierra Leone.
