Alleged Murder Case In Court… ‘Blindman Kill Wef’

Mohamed Sannoh who has gone blind while been incarcerated at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center on Wednesday, 10th June, 2026 made another appearance before Justice Abdulrahman Mansaray of the Freetown High Court for allegedly killing his wife, Mamie Jaward.

Sannoh is before the court on a count charge of murder contrary to Section 1 of the offense against the person’s Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1(a) of the schedule of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act of 2022 Act No. 6 of 2022.

The charge sheet indicates that Mohamed Sannoh on 15th June, 2024 in Freetown, murdered Mamie Jaward who happens to be wife.

During proceedings, State Counsel, Jesse Tucker informed the court that the witnesses were absent in court.

Justice Mansaray on that note warned Counsel Tucker that if he did not make his witnesses available in court on the next adjourned date he will not hesitate to discharge the matter from the court.

He said he would have granted the defendant bail but due to his visual impairment and that he may not have proper care at home, he decided to in at the Male Correctional Center until the next adjourned date.

The matter comes up on the 17th June, 2026 for either continuation or discharge from the court.
