Vagga Kamara, an electrician was on Monday, 29th June, 2026 discharged by Justice Mark Ngegba of the Freetown High Court after State Counsel Aruna Jalloh informed the court that there was no negative impact found on the substances he was arrested with after being tested at the lab at the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU).

Vagga Kamara was before the court on a count charge of unlawful possession of drugs, contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act of 2008, Act No.10 of 2008.

The indictment states that Vagga Kamara on 25 October 2025 at Freetown, in the Western Area of the republic of Sierra Leone was found in possession of 225 milligrams of tramadol without lawful authority.

Shortly after the matter was mentioned, counsel Jalloh informed the court that there was a lab test done on the substance and it proves negative.

He added that the substance was part of the investigation at the preliminary hearing at the Magistrate court until it was sent to the High Court.

Counsel Jalloh said he cannot proceed with the matter and therefore sought for a discharge of the matter.

Justice Mark Ngegba therefore discharged the matter.
