Forty-two-year-old Baimba Conteh has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown after appearing before Justice Adrian Fisher on August 27, 2026, on a charge of unlawful possession of drugs.
Conteh is facing one count of unlawful possession of drugs, contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act, 2008 (Act No. 10 of 2008).
According to the particulars of the offence, on June 7, 2026, at Mamba Ridge, Moyiba Community, Kissy, Western Area, Freetown, the accused was allegedly found in possession of 46 tablets of Tapentadol 250mg, which tested positive for Tramadol Hydrochloride and weighed 80.8 grams, without lawful authority. When the charge was read and explained to him, Conteh pleaded not guilty.
State Prosecutor, Musa Pious Sesay Esq. Jr., applied for a short adjournment to enable the Prosecution to lead its witnesses. The Defendant was not legally represented during the proceedings.
Meanwhile, Justice Fisher refused bail and ordered that the Defendant be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown, and he adjourned the matter to October 12, 2026 for further proceedings.
