Must read

The Deputy Leader of the All People’s Congress party in Parliament, Hon Ibrahim Ben Kargbo has said in Parliament that his party commends the new initiatives that have been brought to the fight against corruption by the ACC Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala.
Hon Kargbo stated that when the fight against corruption was hatched by the Tejan Kabbah Government, they relied on the Sierra Leone Police to arrest and prosecute corrupt people.
He furthered that the country has come a long way in the fight against corruption by the establishing institutions that would undertake the job of fighting graft.
The APC deputy leader disclosed that the current ACC boss has added to the prosecution and prevention of corruption to recovery of stolen wealth and that they as a party are in full support of the new initiatives by the ACC.
He noted that the new ACC boss who, he described as ‘’a young man’’ has made the fight very much visible.
Mr. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo was among several other personalities in the country that were speaking on the one year celebrations of the appointment of the ACC boss.
Several officials of the APC have been investigated for corruption and convicted for corruption while many others have gone into settlements with the Commission and have paid billions of Leones.
The ACC through such monies have been able to raise billions of Leones which the President has promised to use to build an ultra modern diagnostic center for the country.
Many say the ACC Commissioner is energized by the fact that he has received the highest form of political will ever in the country’s political history.
President Bio upon coming to power has waged three peaceful wars and corruption happens to be one of them.
But NGC’s Kandeh Yumkella is of the opinion that even though the ACC boss has built a very strong foundation for the war against corruption, he is still challenged by the need to garner more courage, integrity to sustain the fight.
