Morie Lenghor May Return to Police Headquarters

Must read

Close and credible sources within government have disclosed that government is closely looking at the possibility of bringing in Rtd. Assistant Inspector General of Police, Morie Lenghor to replace Richard Moigbeh, as Police Inspector General.
The substantive Police Inspector General, Richard Moigbeh retires in March, 2020.
Rtd. AIG Lenghor has had a very fine Police career with outstanding uprightness and dedication to acceptable standards of policing and management.
He had gracefully retired from the Police after serving as Assistant Inspector General Crime Services and a number of other portfolios.
The Rtd AIG was later appointed in 2018 as one of the lead counsels in the Commissions of Enquiry.
Our source says, Morie Lenghor’s possible return to Police Headquarters is been planned by the Bio government to help rebrand and stabilize the Police whose credibility, neutrality, transparency is in crisis.
The discussions to bring Mr.Lenghor back as Police IG ,our source maintained are at an advance stage.
The Sierra Leone Police is currently clouded in a leadership succession struggle as the incumbent is set to retire leaving almost all the AIG’s qualified and capable to take the hot seat.
Most of the immediate individuals who were earmarked for the post have either lost their credibility to the Presidency or are almost close to retirement.
