A cross-section of stakeholders in Marampa Chiefdom in the Port Loko District has paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of the chiefdom, P.C Koblo Queen II at his resident in Freetown after he survived violent attacks during the riots in Lunsar on Wednesday 29th April, 2020.

Some of the stakeholders that visited P.C Koblo Queen included the Imam, the Lunsar Body of Christ and the Local Unit Commander of the Lunsar Police Division, Mr. Murana.

The visit, according to investigation, comes as a result of the violent incident that occurred in Lunsar, which resulted to the burning of part of house of the Paramount Chief and vehicle, as well as the lynching of his nephew to death, the freeing of suspects in police detention and the vandalizing of the Lunsar Police Division.

The tragic incident forced the Paramount Chief to flee the Lunsar Township with his family to save their lives.

The purpose of the visit by stakeholders, according to investigation, is to appeal to the Paramount Chief on behalf of his subjects in Marampa Chiefdom to pardon those that caused the mayhem in the township.

The Body of Christ in Lunsar pleaded with the Chief and reminded him of how some men of God have gone through such ordeals. They further pleaded with him to accept their plea as it has already happened.

Prayers for the Chief with his family, the chiefdom and the country at large were offered, especially at this time of the Coronavirus pandemic devastating the country’s economy and other economies around the world.

The Council of Imams led by Alhaji Sorry Ibrahim Kamara made a passionate appeal to the chief to see reasons to forgive his subjects for their wrongdoings caused by what he perceived as “misguided people of the Chiefdom.”

The Local Unite Commander (LUC), Mr. Murana expressed disappointment with what he described as “the reckless move by irate youths to devastate your residence and wreaked havoc in the community.”

The LUC assured the Paramount Chief that his chiefdom was under control even in his absence and will continue to be so when he shall have returned with his family to the chiefdom.

Responding to the plea of stakeholders, one of the wives of the chief, Kadiatu Yayoh Queen Kabia, expressed gratitude to the entourage for paying them a courtesy visit to sympathize with them for the loss of live and properties worth billions of Leones.

In his response, PC Koblo Queen II said Marampa Chiefdom is in his heart in terms of everything, adding that all the wide accusations leveled against him were baseless and unfounded.

He conceded that the perpetrators are his people and had forgiven them long since, whilst he assured that he would still accept them as his subjects whom he averred were part of the chiefdom.

The chief also assured stakeholders of his plans to return to his chiefdom, adding that the ongoing renovation of his compound is a clear indication that he will return to Lunsar pretty soon.

He promised to turn to a new page for the development of not only the chiefdom, but his subjects as well.
