Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma, who presides over Magistrate Court No.1 at Ross Road, has adjourned the ongoing murder matter involving one Mohamed Conteh, alias Jahanama Fire, and two others, to 20th July 2020 for ruling.
The presiding Magistrate made this revelation during yesterday`s proceedings after the police prosecution, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), had closed his case.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Osman Mahmoud Bangura, also applied for the exhibit, which had earlier been tendered in court, to be given to the relative of the deceased, Alhaji Alimamy Bangura, and his application was granted.
Mr. Bangura furthered told this medium that three factual witnesses and two former witnesses have so far testified in the matter, adding that it was only left with the Government pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma, to testify.
The four accused are standing trial for the offences of murder and obtaining money by false pretences, which are all contrary to law.
The police charge sheet indicates that Mohamed Conteh, alias Jahanama Fire, and two others, on Tuesday 25th February 2020 at Magbafeth Village, in Newton, murdered three Guinean nationals namely Mabinty Dumbuya, Soriba Conteh and Musa Sillah.
The indictment states that the accused, on the same date and address, obtained forty million leones (Le40,000,000) from the complainant, pretending that he would prevent him from evil spirits, knowing the same to be false.
The accused were remanded and the matter was adjourned to 20th July 2020 for ruling.
