Must read

As part of the commitment to boost the morale of all police officers in Sierra Leone, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) government has commenced supplying the rice to the police through VIP.

The ship loaded of quality rice is in country and is already being distributed to police officers in the country.

The supply of rice has commenced in Freetown and the contractor, VIP is working assiduously to ensure that the rice meets all police officers across the country.

The government through the company had to delay the distribution because of the limited trucks to supply the officers’ rice in the interior and border communities.

The government has expressed commitment to ensure that all police officers get their supply but it had to delay in some parts of the country because of the limited mobility.

The company has also confirmed to this medium that they will supply and distribute the best quality rice – the par-boil and pussawa rice to all police officers nation-wide.

The motive to supply rice to government’s security sector personnel is aimed at addressing a very critical welfare need and a boost to their morale.

Before taking up the supply of rice to police officers, the issue of the supply of rice to the security sector was categorised as having political and security implications because untimely and poor quality rice supply reflected negatively on personnel performance.

Since the SLPP government addressed the anomalies and irregularities in the supply of rice to the police, it has become a thing of the past as the company has ensured high levels of quality control and timely supplies throughout the execution of its contract.

This medium went further to interview some police personnel in various locations nationwide who jubilated and praised the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, and Bella Trading Company for landing their backlogged rice in the country they know will address their predicaments.
