The Financial Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Sahr Lahai Jusu has rubbished newspaper report that his wife has bagged a billion Leones contract. Describing the report as “fictitious and irresponsible piece of Journalism”, Mr. Jusu said his fiancee, Patricia Tamba, a banker could not have bagged a Billion Leones contract because she is not a businesswoman. “I don’t know how the journalist in question processed that information because if he did his home work well, he would have been in position to know that I do not have a wife who is a businesswoman”, Mr. Jusu added.
The Financial Secretary said the New Direction administration of President Julius Bio does not condone corruption in any form and challenged the Night Watch newspaper and other media organisations to conduct proper investigation before going to press with their stories. He said the current government has in many ways made the work of journalists easier by being transparent. “Now more than ever before Journalists can easily access public information. So there can be no excuse for publishing wrong information”, he said. Mr. Jusu said his record in the public service is clean adding that no amount of reckless journalism would soil it.
