Orange Money, Skye Bank Launch ‘Bank-to-Wallet’ Service

Orange Money Sierra Leone, a subsidiary of Sierra Leone’s leading telecom giant Orange, and Skye Bank Sierra Leone Ltd. recently joined forces to introduce a transformative ‘bank to wallet’ service. This groundbreaking digital banking solution enables customers to seamlessly transfer funds between their bank accounts and their mobile money wallets, revolutionizing financial transactions in the country.

Akinremi Akinwale Oladipo, the executive director of Skye Bank, expressed his excitement about the partnership, highlighting its potential to enhance customer satisfaction in digital banking and other financial services.

“By partnering with Orange Money, we are creating a formidable force in the digital banking world,” he said; adding that “this collaboration is crucial for promoting financial inclusion and ensuring that their customers have access to simple, safe, and convenient banking services”.

David Mansaray, the chief executive officer of Orange Money, echoed Oladipo’s sentiments, emphasizing the organization’s unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

“We are fully committed to meeting the needs of our customers, who are the foundation of our existence,” he stated.

Mansaray also shed light on Orange Money’s ongoing efforts to integrate the financial sector into its mobile digital banking system.

“Integrating the banking sector with our mobile money system has been an incredible journey,” he said; adding: “We have already successfully integrated eight banks into our bank-to-wallet system, and this partnership with Skye Bank is a testament to our dedication to financial innovation”.

The launch of the ‘bank to wallet’ service was accompanied by detailed presentations outlining the registration and activation process.

Customers must have both an Orange Money account and a Skye Bank account to utilize the service. Registration is free of charge, and the initial steps can be conveniently completed by dialing a short code and following the prompts. Final activation requires a visit to any Skye Bank branch for verification and completion of the process.

This strategic partnership between Orange Money and Skye Bank represents a significant milestone in expanding financial access and convenience for the people of Sierra Leone.
