Bail Granted To Alleged Vehicle Fraudster

Thomas Karrow made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown, on two count charges of conspiracy to defraud, contrary to law, causing money to be paid, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the charge sheet, the accused on Thursday, 18th April 2024, at Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown, conspired with persons unknown to defraud Andrew George the sum of One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Leones (Le 115, 000, 00).

Count 2 starts that the accused on the same date and place fraudulently caused Andrew George to pay the sum of One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Leones to Mohamed Sesay, purporting to be the dealer of an unregistered RAV 4 vehicle, knowing same to be false.

Defense Counsel, J.M. Jengo made a bail application for and behalf of the accused.

Magistrate Kekura granted the accused bail the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Leones with two Sureties with valid ID cards. The matter was adjourned to the 9th September, 2024.
