A gay named Aaron Abdulai Conteh, who was staying at Thunder Hill, east end of Freetown and later moved to Waterloo in the Western Rural District of Sierra Leone, has gone missing. This happened after it was discovered that he is gay, which is against the religious and traditional norms of Sierra Leone.
Aaron Abdulai Conteh and his partner, Michael Bangura, ran out of luck when they were caught red handed kissing and caressing during a football match held at Wellington Community Center playing field on 23rd October, 2016. They were severely beaten and left with serious injuries and bodily pain, but they managed to escape in mysterious circumstances from their attackers prior to the arrival of police personnel attached at Wellington Police Post.
Aaron Abdulai Conteh and his partner, Michael Bangura, our source further revealed, have been in this gay practice for undisclosed years.
Homosexuality is not a common practice in Sierra Leone, as the country is largely dominated by Muslim and Christian faiths. These religious bodies do not tolerate gay practice and those that are involved in such are always hounded and at times lynched to death.
Gay is considered in Sierra Leone as demonic, unethical and an abnormal life for those involved in it.
An in-depth investigation conducted by this medium discovered that Aaron’s father’s (Mr. Sheka) life has also been in nightmare due to constant threats, harassment and molestation by community people who requested he produce Aaron, because his son brought shame and disgrace not only to the affected community, religious bodies but the country as a whole.
Mr. Sheka, our sources further revealed, is under mounting pressure by the police to also produce Aaron Abdulai Conteh.
In his defense, Mr. Sheka disclosed that he is loss of words for the disgrace and shame his son brought upon the family, given that he is totally opposed to homosexuality. As he puts it, “It is a bad lifestyle and is menacing for upcoming youths. Fact is it doesn’t add any value to society.”
For that reason, Mr. Sheka said he has disowned Aaron, insisting that he has nothing to do with such an individual as his son.
In an interview within the Wellington Community, where they were caught in the act, some locals maintained that Aaron Conteh and his partner were fortunate to have escaped and must be counting their blessings wherever they may be, otherwise they could have been dead men by now.
Police are on the lookout for Aaron and have placed a huge reward for anyone that can disclose his exact location.
The exact whereabouts of Aaron Abdulai Conteh and partner, Michael Bangura, are not known.
