Africell Introduces New Brand Ambassador

One of the nation’s leading mobile telecommunication companies, Africell, has of yesterday Wednesday 21 September signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with one of the current contestants of Housemates Salone Season 3, Osman Bendu, commonly called Mammy Thomas.

The signing of the MOU took place in the boardroom at Africell’s headquarters situated at No.1 Freetown Road, Wilberforce Village in Freetown.

Speaking over digital media, Africell’s Media Manager John Konteh said his company’s brand new ambassador is active on social media platforms, noting that Mammy Thomas was one of the contestants in Housemates Salone Season 2, though he was evicted.

Mr Konteh assured that the company’s newly appointed ambassador will be responsible for coordinating whatever things put on social media, especially over Tik Tok.

He said digital is the fastest growing medium for the moment because it’s only through digital media someone can quantify the number of audience or viewership one hopes to reach.

Mr Konteh said Africell’s new ambassador has 82,000 followers on Tik Tok and other social media platforms.

Africell’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Joe Abass Bangura, said it took a while for him to go through Osman Bendu’s story, but assured all that he is right for the Africell ambassadorship, as there is nothing impossible in life.

Mr Bangura said the company has been helping the youth across the country, making reference to Kelvin Doe, Karim Brima, who won Le1 billion from Africell among others.

He said Africell is not only for communication, but also for enhancing the lives of young Sierra Leoneans.

Mr Bangura encouraged their new ambassador to continue pushing; assuring him that he is at the right place at the right time.

He said comedy is business as he used to watch his favourite comedians around the global daily, adding there is medicinal help in laughter and joy. He said Africell will continue helping young Sierra Leoneans financially.

Mr Bangura said the three ways to success in life are hard work, unfair advantage, like in the case of popular Nigerian comedians Mr Ebu and Akin and Porpor, and luck.

He emphasised that hard work entails a lot, and rounded up by congratulating Osman Bendu and called for people to follow him on social media.

The Ambassador Osman Bendu thanked God Almighty for his achievements and also heaped praises on Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire for bring housemates to Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Bendu noted that he contested for the Housemates Seasons 1 and 2 though he did not succeed. He continued that he had never thought about such achievements in his life, adding that through the grace of God he is now slowly realising his dreams.

Meanwhile, the new Africell Brand Ambassador also heaped praises on his manager, Madam Patricia Jamiru, for all her support to him.
