The National Reformation Movement (NRM) that took the main opposition APC party to court has suffered a heavy blow on Wednesday after a very good number of its members resigned from the Movement.

The various NRM members who resigned their positions have cited that the formation of the NRM was mainly intended to put out their grievances and recommendations across to the leadership of the party on how the party should be managed.

The leadership of the party, including the Chairman and Leader, the NRM members noted had treated the concerns of the movement with the utmost attention by constituting a nine man committee with an NRM representation.

The mandate of the committee they recounted was to look into the reasons responsible for the poor performance of the party in the March 2018 Presidential Elections.

The Nine-man committee disclosed that upon completion of the committee’s work they made a series of recommendations, including the review of the current December 5th, 1995 constitution of the party, which was one of the demands of the Movement.

The members had also acknowledged that, the Chairman and Leader of the APC, Former President Koroma had admitted all the blames levied on him and openly apologized and promised the thorough implementation of the Nine-man committee report.

The NRM members had also openly expressed that Members of the movement including Sorie Tarawally Esq in the United States of America were fully engaged and involved in the review process.

The membership of the committee they stated had given the NRM an unfettered access to the whole CRC process thereby reflecting their movement’s position.

The NRM members expressed their utter dismay that the infiltration of former APC Flag bearer aspirants into their genuine movement with their ill motivated and malice against the APC party leadership and some individuals have destroyed the true intent and purposes for which the NRM was formed.

The NRM members have also expressed frustrations that while they were on course with the reformation drive of the APC party, some of the NRM executive members had abandoned the plan to hatch sinister plans with older folks, an idea they had preached against.

They accused their Chairman, Mohamed Sheridan of having taken such a posture as resigning from the party’s Constitutional Review Committee (CRC).

The decision they added, was questioned by many NRM members.

The NRM Chairman was also queried, by his team for accepting sponsorship from former APC flag bearer aspirants and stakeholders.

They have also accused the NRM Chairman of accepting finances from the APC flag bearers for the hosting of the cancelled NRM Port Loko conference and several other NRM functions.

The NRM members have also threatened in their resignation to expose all former APC flag bearers and other party stakeholders who they have accused of secretly funding and machinating hatred towards the leadership of the APC in the disguise of the NRM.

They directly attacked Mohamed Sheridan, NRM Chairman, for breaking the camel’s back after he decided to take the party to court against the will of the general membership of the NRM.

The NRM members also expressed deep seated frustration that the movement had sought the services of an opposition lawyer and a sitting member of Parliament of the ruling SLPP to take the party to court.

The list of members who resigned on Wednesday from the NRM had included: Ahmed Timbo Koroma, National Coordinator NRM, Deputy National Coordinator NRM, Western Urban Coordinator NRM,Western Rural Coordinator NRM, National Treasurer NRM, National Chairlady, Kambia District Chairlady ,Southern District Coordinator, Deputy Northern District Coordinator, East District Coordinator and other Genuine members across the country.

The NRM and the APC are currently awaiting a High Court ruling on a pending matter before Justice Komba Kamanda.
