Ahead of NATCOM’s Sim Registration deadline… Orange SL CEO spurs staff to target and register more subscribers

Chief Executive Officer, Orange Sierra Leone has urged the company’s registration teams deployed across the Western Area to target and register more Orange subscribers wherever they are in Freetown and its surroundings.
Addressing Orange teams at its headquarters, Hill Station in Freetown, Aminata Kane expressed thanks and appreciation to the teams for their resilient efforts towards the first phase of Sim Registration in the capital.
While applauding them for doing extremely well in meeting their targets, she also vigorously encouraged them to do more to capture all Orange subscribers wherever they are against the NATCOM deadline.
It could be recalled that NATCOM has extended its Sim Card registration to 15th October 2019 as the deadline for all telecommunications companies to register their valuable subscribers across the country.
Madam Kane stated that NATCOM has the primary responsibility to regulate the telecommunications sector in the country and that it is against this backdrop they have periodically ensured that all telecoms service providers, especially GSM Companies register the SIM cards of all their subscribers.
The move, according to her, is one that is geared towards having a comprehensive data of users, tracking down errant misuse of communications gadgets and to also combat various cyber offences.
Orange Sierra Leone, according to her, always prioritizes its customers and this explains why they are now meeting their subscribers at their door steps to register them.
She continued that they have been able during the first week of the exercise to register over ten thousand (10,000) high valued customers in the capital.
The Iron Lady hoped that as the Orange registration teams clock the ten thousand targets for the first phase, it is her expectation that they will reach fifteen thousand (15,000) in the next phase of the process.
She disclosed that Orange-SL is working towards helping the government to mitigate security threat and also ensure that every Sierra Leonean, irrespective of his or her status should be able to have access to register and subsequently belong to the company’s data base as valuable subscribers.
Aminata Kane highlighted that Orange teams that have been dispatched to various areas will work tirelessly to capture subscribers in their data base through Sim Registration across the board.
She revealed that Orange-SL is very mindful of security and that this explains why they are always working hand in glove with government, especially in terms of adhering to regulations bordering on the security and well-being of Sierra Leone and its people.
The Sim Card registration, she went on, is geared towards addressing the huge problem of un-registered subscribers who have the tendency to use the company’s system to fraud decent and well-meaning individuals.
Orange Sierra Leone’s Project Team Lead and Head of Compliance, Gerald Cole, said the previous Sim registration in the capital city was a huge success story for the company and Sierra Leone as a nation.
He informed all and sundry that Orange-SL is always determined to work diligently to help Sierra Leoneans benefit from the company’s exceptional products and services at affordable prices.
He implored all Orange-SL teams to register and reach out to subscribers in their homes, offices and other public places to get them to register.
He said the company hopes to have more results out of the exercise.
