Almumin Jamat Jamboria Street Benefits From Orange IFTAH Donations

Almumin Jamat, located at Jamboria Street, west of Freetown, has benefitted this year’s Iftah donations by Sierra Leone’s leading mobile network provider, Orange Sierra Leone.

Making the donations, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Orange Sierra Leone, Desmond Spaine, told the Jamat that the Almumin Jamat is lucky to be a beneficiary of this year’s Orange annual Iftah donations, which the company undertakes every year.

He continued that it is their responsibility, at Orange Sierra Leone, to give back to society. The donation included ten bags of rice, three five gallons of vegetable oil, sugar, tomatoes, salt and other cooking items.

Williams George, Zonal Sales Executive, Orange Sierra Leone, earlier on introduced the Orange delegation, while the Regional Business Manager for Freetown officially handed over the items on behalf of Orange Sierra Leone to the Chief Imam of the mosque, Sheik Alusine Abass Kamara.

The Chief Imam thanked Orange Sierra Leone for the gesture and noted that this is the first time they, as a mosque and a community, are benefiting from a business house in the country. He prayed for the business of Orange to thrive and also committed the entire management of Orange to the Almighty.

The Deputy Chief Imam and the Chairman of the Jamat also made similar contributions, thanking the Muslim jamat for the kind gesture.

Suliaman Bai Conteh, the PRO of the Almumin Jamat, disclosed that he is a committed subscriber of Orange Sierra Leone and thanked the delegation from Orange for the gesture. He noted that he is not surprised over the gesture to his jamat, which is largely due to the fact that the company has over the years contributed immensely to the development of various sectors in the country’s economy.

He used the occasion to appeal to the company to help in the completion of their mosque project, which is halfway complete.

Orange Sierra Leone started the Iftah donations last week within their host communities, through donating similar items to the Ahmadiyya Mosque at nearby Regent village and the Jamatul Ilmo Zikre Mosque at Regent Road, Hill Station in the west of Freetown respectively.

The donation of Iftah to Muslims, during the month of Ramadan, is an annual event for the company alongside other promotional activities. It is done across the country and vulnerable groups, such as the disable and beggars, also normally benefit from the donations
