The Chief Minister Professor David Francis has secured a whopping sum of Le 15 billion an equivalent of US$ 2 million wage bill created by the former APC Government at the former Office of Chief of Staff per annum.
It could be recalled the Chief Minister had earlier on dissolved the Office of the Chief of Staff upon the creation of the Office of the Chief Minister. The no nonsense Minister has committed himself to slash the sum of Le 15 billion which was wage bill of 101 personnel employed by the Office of the Chief of Staff on political contracts.
The Chief Minister has expressed his determination to cut this exorbitant wage bill created by the former APC government and to drastic all reduce the number of staff at the Office of the Chief of Staff.
“We have inherited a battered economy and this new Government cannot afford to maintain offices created in the previous administration based on political compensation. We are going to review the governance structure and very office must be fit for purpose .Our focus is to deliver on the key strategic priorities using a team structure that is efficient and cost effective .There is no more business as usual”, Chief Minister stated.
The Government of His Excellency President Bio will continue to cut Government wastage and ensure that there is effective wage bill control mechanism.
