Justice Georgewill has closed the probe on the Youth Affairs Ministry which started some few months against the background that both the defense and the state counsels failed to address the Commission on the issues.
The probe had looked at various projects under the Ministry such as the Youths-in-Fisheries, Agriculture and Drainage and led several witnesses including both past and present officials at the Ministry.
The Commission has also visited the Village Youth farm project.
A galaxy of lawyers represented the various persons of interest in the persons of former Ministers: Alimamy Kamara, Bai Mamoud Bangura and other officers who served as mangers in the respective projects.
The state also led several project beneficiaries including the traditional leaders of Koya Rural District, in the person of Paramount Chief Bomboli 2 and other land owners from whom the Ministry had leased a very huge acreage of land.
Justice Biobele in his closing remarks stated that he has given sufficient time to the defense counsel to present their written addresses in the face of what has been presented to the Commission, but they have failed to do so and hence he has no option but to close the case for onward submission of a report to His Excellency the President as and when required.
