As Popular Footballer Escapes From Custody… Police Declares Ernest Kargbo Wanted

Reports reaching this medium confirm that former Leone Stars Under-17 Captain, Ernest Kargbo has been declared wanted by police.

Police have announced a gift of Le5M for anyone who gives information on Ernest’s whereabouts. Ernest commonly known as ‘BOKA’ escaped from police custody while hospitalised at King Tom Hospital. A police officer accompanied him to the hospital, but he narrowly escaped. 

Ernest is one of the accused persons in respect of the deaths of two people, a police officer called Lucio and a civilian known as Mohamed Lamin Jalloh during a violence that broke out at Wusum Hotel in the northern capital of Makeni.

The violence was between the organisers of the event and security forces. A reliable source told this press that Ernest was invited to the party at Wusum Hotel. Six people including Ernest were arrested on 23rd April, 2017, and taken to Rogbanneh Police Station in Makeni for interrogation.

The matter was later transferred to the King Tom Police Station in Freetown on 25th April, 2017 for further investigation.

Accused persons were subsequently charged to court on 26th April 2017, and the matter was adjourned to 3rd May, 2017. At the moment, a manhunt has been mounted to apprehend him, but his whereabouts remain unknown.
