As post election violence intensifies in S/L… Runaway athlete’s father attacked

Pastor Abioseh Andrew Williams, father of Vivian Williams, one of Sierra Leone top athletes who participated in the just concluded Commonwealth Games in Gold Coats, Australia, has been attacked at his home in Freetown on 23rd, May 2018 between the hours of 17:00hrs allegedly by four unknown men when he was about to leave for his usual routine Church counseling and evangelism to members.

Preliminary medical examination on Vivian’s father had revealed that he had sustained serious general body pain, minor head and neck injury and also a swollen right hand.

Police in Sierra Leone are yet to physically arrest any of the culprits who committed the act, even though they had largely attributed it to politically related violence.

The lives of Vivian’s family members, who are living in an area that is hugely dominated by supporters of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party, are not safe.

Sierra Leone People’s Party thugs and vigilantes are demanding that Vivian Williams be handed over to them, because he was wholeheartedly involved in the door to door Community Campaign for the All People’s Congress Party.

This desperate ploy, from gangs belonging to the Sierra Leone People’s Party supporters to grab Vivian Williams by all cost, has led him to continue to stay out of the country for fear that such reprisal attacks on him and his family would totally exterminate them from the surface of the earth.
