In a move that has come to demonstrate how close knit the football fraternity is in Sierra Leone, Chairman Babadi Kamara of Bo Rangers secured bail for Real Republicans head coach, Abubakarr Tostao Kamara.
The affable and accomplished coach was detained at Adonkia Police Station yesterday and subsequently transferred to Lumley Police Station.
Coach Tostao’s arrest stemmed from allegations of assault against Luawa FC Coach, Sebastian Bowels, during a Premier League match.
The former Leone Stars player expressed profound gratitude for his release, orchestrated by Chairman Babadi.
This latest intervention by Babadi Kamara underscores his commitment to resolving football-related issues outside of legal proceedings.
The move is also a clarion call for others from across the various sectors in the country to consider each other, despite how competitive they might be on the field of play. At the end of the day, a member of the football family is a member regardless of which team he or she plies his or her trade.
Mr. Babadi Kamara’s gesture is worthy of emulation across the board when we consider that Coach Tostao is not a member of the Bo Rangers outfit. But being that he belongs to the football fraternity, Chairman Babadi didn’t consider Tostao being a member of another team something to consider when another member of the football family is in need of help or assistance.
