Bank Governor To Be Sacked?

Unconfirmed reports doing the rounds state that the sacking of the incumbent Bank Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone is imminent. This is not a strange phenomenon.

Heads of States always have the privilege of appointing and sacking officials outside the positions not covered by constitutional provisions. This provision was widely abused by the tribalistic Ernest Koroma. One of his first actions on assumption of power was to sack Dr. J.D. Rogers, then Bank Governor Bank of Sierra Leone, who had not finished his constitutional term of office.

It is therefore not surprising to hear that Dr. Patrick Conteh would soon be removed to be replaced by more qualified technocrats.
