Before Granting Bail: APC’s Dumbuya was Put In Care Of Yansaneh & Bar Association

The Principal Magistrate of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1, Mustapha Braima Jah while granting bail to the National Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC) party, Lansana Dumbuya on Tuesday, 17th February, 2026, ordered that he be placed in the care of the Acting National Chairman of the APC party Ambassador Alhaji Foday Yansaneh and the President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association, Tuma Adama Gento-Kamara Esq. on behalf of the Association.

Mr. Lansana Dumbuya, who was on remand at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre is facing three count charges of incitement, insulting conduct and public insult against the President, Julius Maada Bio stemming from remarks he allegedly made at the Attouga Mini Stadium during a Mammoth meeting called by the APC party.

The bail hearing was attended by the State Prosecutor and Defense Counsels.

Following his bail application to the court, the Lead Defense Counsel, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) Esq. expressed appreciation to the Sierra Leone Bar Association on behalf of the Defendant pointing out that it helped solidify the application for bail presented by the Defence. “This singular action is a signal of the beginning of a reunion between the APC party and the Bar Association,” Lawyer JFK stated.

Meanwhile, the matter was adjourned to Thursday, 19th February, 2026 but was shifted to Tuesday, 24th February, 2026.
