Magistrate Hannah Bonnie, who presides over the Industrial Social Security Division of the High Court of Sierra Leone, has given an order to one Inspector Taylor for the arrest of the Director of National Minerals Agency (NMA), Julius Mattia, as against the next court sitting.
According to the presiding Magistrate, Inspector Taylor should, at all cost, arrest the defendant, but that if he fails to arrest him on the next hearing, he would keep him (Inspector Taylor) behind bars.
The defendant is arraigned before the court on one count charge of failing to comply with section 32 (1) (a) of NASSIT Act No. 5 of 2001, which is an infringement.
The charge sheet indicates that the National Mineral Agency, being an established institution in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, failed to pay NASSIT contributions for its employees.
The matter was adjourned to 11th April 2020.
