Kelfala Marrah yesterday made his first appearance before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of Court No.2 as he was alleged to have assaulted and wounded Lamin Fofanah in in manner thereby doing him actual bodily harm.
The accused was arraigned on four counts charges, ranging from wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, throwing missiles and public insult, which are all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
The charge sheet indicates that the accused, on Wednesday 24th November 2020 at Wilberforce in Freetown, maliciously wounded Lamin Fofanah. The charge sheet continues that the accused, on the same day and place, threw missiles at the house of the complainant and also insulted him publicly to provoke him to commit breach of the peace.
After the charges were read to the accused he pleaded not guilty of the offence.
The prosecutor, Sergeant 11406 Musu Kpulum, sought for a date, informing that her witnesses were not present in court.
The accused was unrepresented, but Magistrate Ngegba used his discretion and granted him bail. The matter was adjourned to the 16th December 2020.
