Commercial bike rider Ibrahim Mohamed Kamara was on Wednesday, 20 April 2022, sent to prison again by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Court No. 1 for the alleged murder of Alpha Sankoh.
The accused is before the court on one count charge of murder contrary to law.
According to the police, the accused on Saturday, 21 January 2022, at Ro-Theren Village, Romende Chiefdom, Port-Loko District, murdered Alpha Sankoh.
Led in evidence by Sergeant 9939 Mohammed Lahai, the Exhibit Clerk, Detective Sergeant 8576 Issa Kamara attached to the Exhibit Office at the CID headquarters said his duty is to register all exhibits brought to the station in respect of matters that are being investigated by CID officers at the headquarters.
Kamara recalled that on 3 February 2022 he was on duty when Detective Inspector Makieu P.A. attached to the Homicide Unit handed over to him a motorbike with its key.
The witness added that he took possession of the said exhibits and registered them in the court’s exhibit book against serial number “25/2022”, and since then the said exhibits had been in police custody.
The items were produced and tendered in court as “exhibit P1-2” respectively to form part of the prosecution’s case.
However, the accused, who was not legally represented in court, said he had no questions for the witness.
Magistrate Kekura refused bail to the accused and remanded him in prison, while the matter was adjourned to 25 April 2022 for further hearing.
