CRISPIN FEIO EDWARDS was born on the 15th day of February in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty to late Mr. C.K. Edwards and Mrs. Taiwo Edwards.

He grew up at No. 7 Malta Street, East End of Freetown, in an area popularly known as Kossoh Town. He went to the Holy Trinity Boys School, Freetown and Secondary School at the Methodist Boys High School from Form One to Sixth Form. He sat to his Ordinary and Advanced Level West African Examination Council (WAEC).

After completion of his Primary and Secondary School education in Sierra Leone, he proceeded to the United Kingdom to further his education. He attended the Council for National Academic Awards (Ealing) College of Higher Education now SOUTH THAMES UNIVERSITY, LONDON and graduated with Bachelor of Laws. He was called to the Bar of England & Wales on the 25th November, 1980 in the Council of Legal Education in London, England. A Member of Lincoln’s Inn.  He did his Pupilage at No.9 Stone Buildings, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London.

Crispin Feio Edwards returned to Sierra Leone on the 6th day of January, 1982 and started working for the Sierra Leone Government in the Judiciary as State Counsel (Crown Prosecutor). Hard working man, as we all knew him to be, he was promoted to Senior State Counsel in 1987 being Prosecutor for the whole Eastern Region in Sierra Leone.

In 1989, he resigned from the service of the Government of Sierra Leone and started as a Private Legal Practitioner.

In 1998, he was contracted as a Prosecutor for the Government of Sierra Leone during the Treason Trials.

As a Private Legal Practitioner, he was retained a Solicitor for some Institutions and Companies in Sierra Leone, such as: P.A.E (PACIFIC ARTITECT ENGINEERS), an American Company operating in Sierra Leone.

He was also a member of the General Legal Council (the body that regulates legal practice in Sierra Leone).

In the Sierra Leone Bar Association he was a very active member and for that reason he was voted into the office of Vice President for Two (2) consecutive years; Ex-Officio Member of the Executive for Two (2) consecutive years again and finally, in 2007 to 2008, to the highest office of the President of the Bar.

As result of Crispin Feio Edwards’ exemplary work in the field of Law, he was granted a National Award “Commander of the Order of Rokel”, by His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.

Crispin Feio Edwards married to Mrs. EMMA AMISAH EDWARDS and GOD blessed them with Four (4) Children: CRISPIN (Jr.), Desmond, Darren, and Fiona.

He quietly passed away at the Choithrams Memorial Hospital, Hill Station, Freetown, on Monday 12th March 2018 after a short illness.

The funeral service will take place today, Thursday, 29th March 2018, at the Bethel Methodist Church, Easton Street, Freetown and burial is at the Race Course Cemetery.
