Brewery Boosts Const. 115

By Ragan M. Conteh
The Member of Parliament representing Constituency 115, in the east of Freetown, Hon. Lawyer Alpha Bah, with support from the Sierra Leone Brewery Limited has, on Monday, 13th April, 2020, together with his councilors, donated hand-washing items to the Palm Bridge Market and SLPMB Junction, both at Wellington in Constituency 115.
The items include three finic hand-washing machines, three 300l tanks, 20 veronica buckets, three litter bins, soap, tissues and hand sanitizers.
The donation seeks to complement government’s efforts to mitigate the spread of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Making the donation, the hardworking Parliamentarian appealed to the beneficiaries (traders) to handle the gears with care and ensure they are used for their intended purposes.
“COVID-19 is real and is a killer virus, thus everyone should play his/her part to ensure that the virus is eliminated,” he warned.
He encouraged traders and buyers to regularly wash their hands to prevent the spread of the virus
While thanking Brewery for their unfeigned support to the Constituency, Hon Bah however noted that even though he had earlier on donated veronica buckets to the said beneficiaries he thought it fit to solicit similar support from Brewery especially for the market, which attracts hundreds of people every day. He added that the request was necessitated because the veronica buckets supplied would not be enough to serve the mammoth crowd of traders and buyers in both wards in the Constituency in accessing the market on a daily basis.
Thanking Brewery on behalf of Constituency 115, Alfred Koroma, a businessman, described the donation as timely especially at a time when the country is threatened by the Coronavirus.
He said they will remain grateful to the company for all they had done for the people of Constituency 115, and further assured Brewery of their close collaboration in developing the constituency.
“We will use the said items judiciously and ensure that people wash their hands before entering the market, as everyone is a suspect in a time like this,” Alfred Koroma assured.
