Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Hawah Bah, prosecution witness (PW) 2, Alhaji Tejan Jalloh has testified before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No. 2 in the ongoing matter involving 20 years old Abdulai Koroma charged with murder, an offence that is contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
It was alleged by the police that Abdulai Koroma on January 1, 2022, at Tagi Drive off Femi Turner Drive in Goderich, Freetown, murdered Elizabeth Vincent.
In continuation of his testimony, Mr Jalloh told the court that he knew the deceased and recognised the accused. PW2 recalled that on December 31, 2021, he was at home in Wellington, Freetown, when the two men brought the victim home. He recounted that when they arrived with the victim, she was in pool of blood and speechless, with a handkerchief placed in her mouth. Mr Jalloh said when he asked the men how they’d come across the victim, they told him that they found her lying on the street.
Few seconds later, the witness noted that prosecution witness (PW)1, who had earlier testified, received a call and told them that the two guys were suspect in their sister’s present health condition. He detailed the court that the victim was taken to the nearby hospital, but later discharged and subsequently passed away at home.
The witness said, that prompted them to call upon the suspects, stating that upon their arrival, they were taken to the Adonkia Police Station for questioning, where he also made a statement to the police.
