Ibrahim Sesay who identified himself as a businessman on Monday, 11th May, 2026 made his first appearance before Principal Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah for allegedly stealing three cartons of tiles valued at over Three Thousand Leones, being property of complaint, Alhaji Sallieu Jalloh.
The defendant was arraigned in court on four count charges ranging from larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916, wounding with intent contrary to Section 18 of the offense against the person’s Act 1861, and Assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The charge sheet indicated that the defendant on Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026 at Howe Street in Freetown, did stole three cartons of tiles valued at Three Thousand, Six Hundred Leones being property of Alhaji Sallieu Jalloh.
The charge sheet further stated that the defendant on the same day and place wounded Alhaji Sallieu Jalloh with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
The charge sheet further stated that the defendant also maliciously damaged the complaint Ibrahim Sallieu Jalloh and also assaulted him in a manner occasioning on him actual bodily harm.
After the charges were read and explained to the defendant no plea was taken because of the seriousness of the offenses.
The Police Prosecutor, CSP Tommy Zizer served the defendant with bundles of the indictment for him to prepare his case.
He was not represented in court and so no bail application was made on his behalf.
The defendant was remanded in custody by the Principal Magistrate because of the seriousness of the offense and the matter was adjourned to the 17th May, 2026 for continuation.
