Two accused, namely Alhaji Suliaman Kamara and Ibrahim Kamara, are standing trial at the Ross Road High Court No. 1, which is presided over by Justice Manuella Harding, for allegedly grabbing a piece of land at No. 262 Bai Bureh Road,Wellington in Freetown, which is property belonging to one Madam Isha Sesay.
Madam Fatamata Kamara has testified before Justice Manuella Harding, on Friday 15th October, 2020, in respect of the matter. She told the court that she recognized the defendants as caretakers and knew a property situated at No. 262 Bai Bureh Road, Wellington in Freetown.
The witness added that the property, in question, was owned by her grandfather, Abu Sesay. She furthered that the 1st defendant, Alhaji Suliaman Kamara, was employed by her grandfather as caretaker for the said land.
Madam Kamara detailed the court that, after the death of her grandfather, the property was handed over to her mother, Wara Sesay, stating that the 1st defendant was still working with her mother till she died. She said, after the death of her mother, the land in question was handed over to her.
During the cross examination by the defense counsel, I. Macfoy, he asked the witness whether her late mother had a power of Attorney for the said land. In reply the witness answered, yes.
The defendants are on bail and the matter was adjourned to 30th October, 2020.
