Chief Minister’s $1.5M Saga… Kenema P.C. Pays Homage

By Ralph Sesay
Paramount Chief, Sadiq M. Kapuwa of Matoe 1V Nongowa Chiefdom, has joined the bandwagon in defending the Chief Minister, David Francis, as he is trying to save his face from allegations making the rounds on social media.
In a release dated 16th November, 2019 purportedly from the Chiefdom Committee of Nongowah in Kenema District, stated that the attention of the committee has been drawn to the allegations peddled against the Chief Minister who hails from the chiefdom by journalist Salieu Tejan Jalloh.
The P.C.’s release also attempted to defend the image and credibility of the Chief Minister who they say is born and bred in a family that upholds the tenets of integrity, honesty and hard work.
The release also called on the people of Nongowah to urge the journalist to publish details in his newspaper that will confirm his allegations.
The release insinuated that the failure on the part of the journalist to publish the details will amount to him compromising his profession.
The release concluded by threatening that the newspaper will hear from them should in case this fails.
A senior citizen of Kenema who spoke to this medium via phone from Kenema, noted that P.C. Kapuwa is only trying to use the Committee to show and pay his homage to his boss who worked a lot in getting him where he is.
The citizen has also disclosed that P.C. Kapuwa has a lot of issues to address in the chiefdom rather than concentrating on something that he will have little or no impact at the end of the day.
Paramount Chief Sadiq M. Kapuwa Matoe 1V of Nongowah Chiefdom was elected almost a year ago amidst controversy and many fingers had pointed at the Chief Minister as responsible for such machinations.
The Paramount Chief before winning the elections was serving in the Office of the Chief Minister at State House and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation respectively.
