COCAINE SAGA… “SLPP GREEDY, SELFISH” -Elder SLPP Members

Must read

Concerned and Elder members of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) at home and abroad have called the current members of their party government who had knowledge of the presence of Jos Leijdekkers in Sierra Leone as “greedy and selfish.”

The concerned Elder SLPP folks say their party is not known for getting involved in illicit affairs. However, since it has reportedly happened, they suggested that the regime should have used the proceeds they allegedly made from drug dealing or their association with Jos Leijdekkers to improve on the nation and people.

“The reason why we are hearing all this talk and accusations and denials with regards Jos Leijdekkers is because someone got greedy, selfish and arrogant somewhere that caused someone to become so upset that they snitched on the party’s whole enterprise with Leijdekkers. Our party is the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), and they should have been more focused on the people and not their personal hence selfish interests. At this rate, these guys are going to so sully the image and reputation of the party that if we lose power, we might end up in opposition for a long time,” said the Elder SLPP members.

Several upset Sierra Leoneans who also say they have been embarrassed by the allegations of an association or relationship between the ruling family, local businesses and those from without, the ruling party and members of state security with cocaine smuggler Jos Leijdekkers, intimated that for the past years members of the ruling party government have known that Jos Leijdekkers is around they should have used his money and connection to better the state instead of personally enriching themselves at the expense or detriment of the people and country, especially the youth, many of whom are caught up in drug addiction.

“If members of the SLPP that have knowledge of who Jos Leijdekkers really is had considered how to better the country they would have used the money and other assets acquired through drug dealing and smuggling, then they would have saved face. Imagine that drug dealers make more money than governments, which is why governments are against drug dealing. Imagine making all that money without paying taxes. So, while we have problems this regime has not been able to solve, the money that those close to this regime have made from their relationship with Bolle Jos could and should have been used to introduce, say, subsidies on our most pressing yet crucial needs: food, fuel, electricity, education and healthcare. But the country is presently worse off on food security, fuel, electric power, education and healthcare despite the knowledge that many of our government and business officials have all benefitted from the drug smuggling that have been going on using Sierra Leone’s diplomatic immunity status,” said a female Sierra Leonean at Krootown Road Market.

Citizens that spoke to this medium alleged that although Leijdekkers was initially introduced as either an Arab or Turkish investor, those who knew his true identity concealed it in the hope of benefitting from this relationship.

“Drugs money is plenty. It is easily amassed but hard to keep or store. Remember in the film ‘Bad Boys’ when Martin Lawrence’s character went to that basement where the drug lord stashed his money, he saw rats eating the money. Money like this is invested to make it clean. We have been hearing that this Jos Leijdekkers has been investing in local and multinational businesses not limited to banks, oil, mining, real estate, shipping, while his local connections have been buying real estate and other assets overseas, and depositing monies in offshore accounts. You can see how different the mentality is: the white guy invests in the country while his local handlers connected with this regime are empowering foreign banks and real estate developers,” one of the Sierra Leoneans that spoke to this medium alleged.

According to sources in the nation’s security setup, many people in the present government and their associates have made millions of dollars from their association with cocaine smuggler Jos Leijdekkers.

“Sierra Leoneans are known for double crossing and setting people up. What we expected for people in government to have done was to use this young man and his connections to make money for the government. This government has been desperate for money that our international supporters are refusing to make available, as they put stringent conditions on how the money is spent not limited to you giving in to IMF and World Bank conditionality. But with drugs money, there are no conditions except that the drug dealer uses your people as guinea pigs to try or test his or her products and your borders to get the drugs out to the bigger paying clients further afield. Instead, what we know is that members of our regime use their diplomatic passports to smuggle drugs and money in and out of the country. They are arrogant, greedy and selfish. Imagine that although they have all denied knowing Jos Leijdekkers, now details keep coming out showing that they have long known about this young man but were using him to get rich at the detriment of the youth and the society at large,” said an intelligence source working for the state.

Today drug abuse is rife in Sierra Leone. With many people who allegedly sell drugs or are used as frontmen and women for those that supply them with the drugs, Kush, cocaine, tramadol and others, getting filthy rich, Sierra Leoneans have asked how much richer are those who supply the new or recently made rich that are mostly allegedly linked to the ruling party but more so Admire Bio, sister of the president.

One of our sources in local drugs law enforcement alleged: “Since Jos Leijdekkers came to town many people that were low level street people have all of a sudden become filthy rich with no one asking how. The rise of lady Admire Bio, the president’s sister, as a leading personality in local drug dealing, can be related to their relationship with Jos, who we know is married to the president’s daughter. So we can see that although these people knew about Jos Leijdekkers and all the people getting rich for knowing him, the SLPP led government decided to use him for their own benefit, which has resulted to all the embarrassment we have been made to suffer with regards rampant drug abuse and the knowledge that Jos Leijdekkers is being protected by this government. Only selfish and arrogant leaders would let their people suffer while they smile all the way to the bank.”
