Commissions of Enquiry Goes On Recess … Sittings Resume 15th May, 2019

A release from the Secretariat of the Commissions of Enquiry has informed members of the public that the Commission will go on Easter recess from 15th April to 15th May, 2019.
The Honourable judges of the Commission will however not sit during the said period but the Commission will be opened to members of the public in the normal hours of the court.
The Commissions of Enquiry started operations on the 29th January ,2019 and it is tasked to investigate all persons who were President,Vice President,Ministers of Government and other Government functionaries between November 2007 and April ,2018.
Justice Biobele Georgewill from Nigeria,Justice William Annan Atugbah from Ghana and Justice Bankole Thompson from Sierra Leone are presiding over the three Commissions of Enquiry.
Since the inception of the Commissions a galaxy of lawyers have been representing the persons of interest and the areas already looked into by the Commissions’ of Enquiry are the Ministries of Agriculture, Youth Affairs, Commercial Banks, Mines and Mineral Resources and the management of the Ebola epidemic that hit the country in 2014.
The hearings are expected to last for an initial six months period.
