Court To Arrest SLANGO National Coordinator

On Saturday the 8th May 2021, Magistrate Mark Ngeba, who presides over at the Industrial High Court No.1, Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown, ordered the arrest of the national Co-ordinator of the Sierra Leone and Non -Governmental Organizations (SLANGO), Shellack K. Davies, for failing to avail himself in court on two consecutive times, since inception of the matter.

The accused is arraigned before the court on one count of failing to pay NASSIT contributions, an offence which is contrary to Section 32 (1) (c) of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust Act No. 5 of 2001.

The charge sheet adduces that Shellak K. Davies of SLANGO, which is an establishment under the NASSIT Act No. 5 of 2001, on diverse dates between May 2020 and January 2021, at No. 7 Conteh Drive, Tengbeh Town in Freetown, failed to pay NASSIT contributions for his workers within the stipulated time.

Lawyer Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah is prosecuting the matter, which will come up again on the 15th May, 2021.
