The Kingdom Hall Church usually known as Jehovah Witnesses will kick off their 2024 Annual Convention that will bring together Jehovah Witness Churches from all over the world to deliberate on ways and means of spreading the Good News about Jesus Christ.

This Convention would be held on different days, teaching people on different topics about the Lord Jesus Christ.

At a press conference held with members of the press on Thursday, 7th November 2026 at their Sussex Expandable Kingdom Hall at Banga Farm, Mile 13, the National Spokesman of the Jehovah Witnesses, Edgard D. Lacle, explained to the Press the purpose of the Convention, stating that the Convention has started worldwide since May this year, on the theme: “Declare the Good News”.

Mr. Lacle said the Convention would be a three-day free and live events open to the general public to the word of God to thousands of people in Sierra Leone and the world over, who may need to experience positivity in their lives, and the Sierra Leone Chapter to commence today, Friday, 8th on to Sunday, 10th November at Sussex, will not be an exception.

Declaring the Good News Convention, he said, will entail Bible-based discourses and interviews on topics like “Everlasting Good News – In What Sense?”, “Why We Don’t Fear Bad News?” and “Hold Firmly to the Good News – Why and How?”.

The Jehovah Witnesses Spokesman disclosed that over thirty (30) short videos would be used during the three-day encounters to help the congregation appreciate the positive and uplifting Good News contained in God’s Words.

He said one of the main features of the Convention is the Bible-based video drama, revealing that this year’s two (2) episodes of the Drama will depict themes that include: “The Good News according to Jesus” and “True Light of the World,” and assured that the themes will captivate the congregation throughout the duration of the Convention.

Mr. Lacle preached that Jesus’ miraculous birth was only the first of many gripping events that marked his childhood, with others that included his being hunted by a murderous King, his movement to Egypt and later his spirited teachings that astounded most of the greatest teachers of his days.

Mr. Lacle explained that there are many other such miraculous scenes that would be unfolded during the course of a two-part episode of Jesus Christ on Friday and Saturday. He maintained that each Convention day’s program will highlight some key features about the Good News.

He said on Friday, 8th November, 2024, the Convention will confirm evidences from the Good News about Jesus Christ in the Gospel are accurate records of his life, thereby ensuring that people learn about these records in the Bible and how they can benefit them.

He said on Saturday, 9th November, they will provide answers to the questions: “What was prophesized about Jesus’ birth and childhood?” and “Did those prophecies really come true?”, and on Sunday they will highlight the Bible-based talk  on, “Why We Don’t Fear Bad News?” and learn why millions today have reasons to feel secured and confident despite worsening world conditions.

Mr. Lacle furthered that on Saturday again, they will also spotlight Baptism of candidates from surrounding communities.

Mr. Lacle therefore extended invitation to the general public to find time to attend the Convention assuring that attendees lives then and after will never be the same by the time they left the Convention at the end.

He explained the schedule of the Convention as thus: November 8-10, 2024 and November 15-17, 2024 at the Sussex Expandable Kingdom Hall at Banga Farm at Mile 13; November 22-24-29 and December 1 at the Waterloo Expandable Kingdom Hall located at Old Motor Road by Government Hospital, Waterloo on the following times: Friday and Saturday from 9:20 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Convention would be conducted in Krio throughout for everyone to understand what would be preached.

The Spokesman went on to share the following basic information about the Jehovah Witnesses: They own 239 worship points with an estimated 8,816,562 Jehovah Witness worshippers, 7,281,212 free homes Bible conducted courses, and 2,564 Ministers who teach the Bible.
