Deputy Finance Minister Raps CFA Society in New York

Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Patricia Laverly, has joined the Global Investment banking Community at the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Deputy Minister used the occasion to showcase Sierra Leone’s recent improvements in the investment climate with a view to attract new investments and investors to the country.
Representatives from top tier investment banks and financial institutions that collectively have in excess of USD 5O Trillion assets under management attended the two-day ESG Owner Summit meeting.
The meeting also attracted representatives from sovereign wealth pension funds, insurance companies and University endowments.
The Deputy Minister reported that follow-up activities are planned including the ongoing preparations of the country’s sovereign credit rating.
This is with the view to ensure that the country participates in global capital markets.
Chairman, Presidential Infrastructure Initiatives at State House, Dr John Tambi and Victoria Sulimani, Deputy Ambassador, United Nations Permanent Mission in New York, also attended the meeting.
