By Donstance Koroma

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Disabled International Foundation Sierra Leone/ UK (DIF-SL), Imambay Kadie Kamara, has congratulated His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio on his victory in the recently conducted March polls.

The London based Chief Executive Officer referred to President Bio as an enduring personality with the right frame of mind to effect the long awaited change the nation has been yearning for. She prayed that the ultimate judge of morality (God) guides the President in all his undertakings.

In an interview via mobile phone, on Wednesday 11th April, 2018, Imambay K. Kamara called on the President to have a look at homelessness of persons living with disability and the aged and called for their inclusion in the country’s free health care system as many of them stand affected during the raining season.

She added that the former  APC Government have set the stage by enacting the Disability Act, which she referred to as a step in the right direction and called on the government of President Bio to  further fully implement  the Act so that physically challenged individuals will start living  a dignified life.

Kadie Kamara furthered  that the need for additional homes for the aged, mentally disturbed and the blind cannot be over emphasized as the current ones can’t accommodate the huge number of insane,  aged and blind beggars roaming the major towns and cities across the country.

She emphasized that these categories of disability people have suffered in silence. Therefore, according to her, they are eagerly waiting for a government that will seriously look into their plight and bring sustainable and lasting solutions.

According to the founder and CEO, it is her wish to see commercial transportation in the country that are disable friendly and also technical vocational skills training centers for physically challenged individuals under the administration of President Bio.

“Mr. President, do not lean on your own understanding but always ask God for His divine direction because all other directions might fail but God’s divine direction always comes to pass,” the CEO concluded.
