Dr. Patrick Coker, the Immediate Past President of the National Olympic Committee/ Commonwealth Games Association of Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA-SLE) was part of the 7th IOC World Conference on Prevention of Injury and Illness IN Sports  from 29th  February to 2nd  March 2024, in Monaco.
Dr. Patrick Coker is the Chairman for the Medical Commission of ANOCA.
The IOC World Conference on Prevention of Injury is the premier international conference for those interested in clinical aspects of sports and exercise medicine.
The diverse faculty represents the pre-eminent international authorities in injury and illness prevention.
This triennial conference provided a unique opportunity for the global sport and exercise medicine community to meet face-to-face in the ideal environment that Monaco provides.
The ANOC Medical Commission, led by Chair Chris Milne met ahead of the Conference.
During the meeting, the members delivered updates from their continents. Dr. Pigozzi delivered an update on the WADA Foundation Board activities and the newly approved list of forbidden substances.
Discussions about adding another member to the ANOC Medical Commission on which all members agreed were also held. The outcome  will be presented to the ANOC President.
The members also discussed the medical protocols adopted by OCA for the Asian games described as good and should be shared with the members so that other continents could study them and consider implementing some of the elements.
