E. E. Lions TD, Dede Abu Boost Women’s Premier League With Trophies

Dede Abu, the Technical Director of East End Lions on Thursday January 11 2024, donated trophies to SL Women’s Premier League for the 2023/24 league season.

Presenting the trophies to the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League Board at the Sierra Leone Football Association secretariat in Kingtom, the former East End Lions player, Dede Abu explained the rationale behind his donation to the SL Women’s Premier League, emphasising his desire to develop female football countrywide and give back to the football community to which he belongs.

In her brief statement,  Chairlady for the Women’s Premier League Board, Catherine Sillah thanked Dede Abu for his wonderful gesture towards the development of women’s football in Sierra Leone as she called on Sierra Leoneans and corporate houses to support the league.

However, the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League has recorded 23 goals in the third week of the league with 16 goals scored last week, Saturday 6th January 2023 with Malema Queens defeated Albitaya Queens by six goals to zero (6-0) to secured 6 points from 3 matches at the Kailahun field.

While their opponent Albitaya Queens failed to secure a point out of three matches played so far.

On the same day, at the Parade Field, Correctional Service defeated VEM BUCK by five goals to two (5-2) with Correctional Service securing their first three points out of three matches played while VEM BUCK still remain at one point from 3 matches.

 Patricia Umu lost at home to Mena Queens by two goals to one (2-1) at the Kambia field with women’s from Makeni  now securing 9 points from 3 matches while their opponent Patricia Umu on 4points from 3 matches

Last Sunday 7th January 2024, seven  goals were scored with Ram K defeating FC Kallon female by two goals to one (2-1) at the Bo field while the defending champion defeating Koya Queens at Mile 38 by four goals to zero (4-0) and the other match did not play between the host Sierra Leone Police and Kahunla Queens.

Meanwhile, the league will continue this Saturday January 13, 2024 with Albitaya Queens battle Ram K FC at the Kabala playing field, while Kahunla Queens welcome Koya Queens at the Kenema Town field.

Sunday January 13th, 2024, fixture feature FC Kallon host Correctional Centre at the Angola playing field, Mena Queens engage Malema Queens at the Wusum field, while Mogbewmo Queens take on Patricia Umu FC at the Rutile field and VEM Buck and Sierra Leone Police rambles for supremacy at the Bassa Town field.
