Many readers who are following the Ebola ambulance saga may be wondering at the level of desperation Kawusu Kebbay showed in the purchase of the twenty ambulances on behalf of Government in August 2014.
To start with, what was the rationale for Kawusu Kebbay to have jointly met with both the parent company (UNIWORD Trading Services and Kingdom Security Logistics,the local agent together in Dubai? Which of two companies did he actually negotiate with and how did he arrive at USD 1,050,000 for twenty ambulances?
How was he also able to make a profit of over USD 50,000 for the state as he stated in his email ? and why did he have to change the original intention of the Ministry of Health to buy twenty (20) ambulances instead of the initial ten (10) which was agreed upon by the Ministry of Health prior to him leaving for Dubai?
These and many other questions are what is very much sinister about the ambulance deal and Sierra Leoneans want to know since all this information was embedded in the leaked email which Mr.Kasuwu Kebbay wrote to his cohorts while in Dubai.
How come the parent company will only supply sixteen (16) ambulances to the Government of Sierra Leone instead of the twenty (20) which Kawusu Kebbay had eagerly informed his cohorts that will be immediately shipped to Sierra Leone by the Nigerian Government?
Was it a calculated ploy to ensure that the Government of Sierra Leone and by extension the Ministry of Health part with the people’s money?
