A 55-year-old man, John Sesay and his 19-year-old son, John Alfred Sasay, were remanded in custody following their first appearance before Magistrate Mamakoh Sao Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown, on two count charges of assault and malicious damage contrary to Section 46 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861, respectively.
Police allege that on Monday, 21st July, 2025, at No. 11 Priscilla Street in Freetown, the duo attacked Aziz Alhassan Turay, inflicting bodily harm on him and for also damaging his black prescription eyeglasses valued at Three Hundred United States Dollars (USD 300 an equivalent of Seven Thousand, One Hundred and Ten Leones (L e7,110). No plea was taken when the charges were read and explained to the accused persons.
Magistrate Kallon however ordered that both men be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre until the adjourned date of 8th August, 2025 for further hearing. The matter is being prosecuted by Police Constable 15098 M.A. Sesay.
